Food Pantry Volunteers—And More Needed!
On the afternoon of Friday, April 11, the food pantry hosted a dozen members of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce for their annual Volunteer Day. The original plan to replace the skirt on the trailer and widen the entry ramp, unfortunately had to be postponed due to rain. But the employees of Mastercard, ATIS-USA and YTS Wealth Management demonstrated great flexibility and a willingness to serve wherever needed. One group picked up and stored an extra load of food from Amazon Fresh, another wrote personal notes of welcome for those coming to the pantry, and another group served at our nearby partner agency, Mission Nova, during their food distribution. We are so grateful for the volunteers graciously giving their time and energy on behalf of vulnerable neighbors facing food insecurity.
Since the pantry is open on Saturdays, we'‘ll need to reschedule the repair project to an upcoming weekday, tentatively planned for Friday, April 25th. This is a great way to show our neighbors dignity and worth, by improving the physical space. If you’re available and would like to volunteer, please email us at ContactArlingtonBridge@gmail.com.
