Citizenship Class Exams
Our spring Citizenship Class wrapped up after 10 weeks of studying, coaching and review for the students who are preparing to take the naturalization test. To pass the civics portion, students must get at least six of ten questions correct. Sound easy? Studies show about only 40% of American citizens could pass the test!
Just imagine being quizzed on the essential history and civics of Bolivia, Guatemala, or El Salvador—no wonder it’s daunting. But four of our students from those countries recently took the English and Civics test in order to become U.S. citizens. All have lived in the country for many years and have kids who grew up here, and desire to be naturalized citizens. Three students are challenged in English proficiency, making the test even more difficult for them. But they persevered through the class and even returned for extra review and practice. Please be praying for our students as they await their results!
