Survey: Bridge Kids Delivers Transformational Impact for Children and Families
For many families, finding a safe, supportive environment where children can grow academically, socially, and spiritually can be challenging. Your support of Bridge Kids proved once again that it is much more than an afterschool program—it is a place where children flourish.
A recent end-of-year parent survey revealed overwhelming satisfaction among families participating in Bridge Kids. Parents of 19 students in grades 1 through 5 shared feedback about their children's experiences, and the results were remarkable.
Every parent surveyed strongly agreed that their child enjoys attending Bridge Kids, has developed a more positive attitude toward learning, is cared for in a safe and positive environment, and that they are satisfied with the program overall. Achieving 100% strong agreement in these areas is a powerful testament to the program's quality and impact.
The survey also demonstrated significant academic gains. When children first enrolled, 68% of parents expressed concerns about their child's reading skills, and 58% had concerns about math. By the end of the year, 95% of parents agreed that their child's reading had improved, while 100% agreed that their child's math skills had improved. Parents also reported that their children were more enthusiastic about learning, with many expressing greater enjoyment of reading and math than before.
Bridge Kids' success extends far beyond academics. Parents consistently described growth in confidence, communication, responsibility, and social skills. One parent shared that their child had become "more confident and participates a lot." Another noted that their child is now "more communicative, knows more about God, and interacts with classmates." Several families commented on their children's increased motivation to learn and excitement about attending the program each day.
The program's dedicated staff received exceptional praise. Nearly every parent strongly agreed that staff members care deeply for their children, treat them fairly, and make learning fun. Parents repeatedly expressed gratitude for the patience, encouragement, and genuine concern shown by teachers and volunteers.
As a faith-based program, Bridge Kids also seeks to nurture children's spiritual development. The survey found that every parent agreed their child had gained a better understanding of the Bible and their faith. Parents reported that their children are growing not only in knowledge but also in character and values.
Perhaps the most encouraging theme throughout the survey was the sense of community families experience through Bridge Kids. Parents described the program as a place where children feel welcomed, supported, and loved. One family wrote, "We are happy to be part of this big family, where they show genuine concern for their learning." Another parent expressed gratitude to God for "having placed such good people in the program."
The results make it clear: Bridge Kids is helping children succeed academically, grow spiritually, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Through the commitment of its staff, volunteers, supporters, and partner churches, Bridge Kids continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families throughout our community.
